What is this?

William Blake (1757-1827) was an English poet, painter and printmaker, who played a major role in the Romantic movement of the late 18th and early 19th centuries. His works often focused on the interconnectedness of nature and explored a range of spiritual and moral themes, using symbolism and vivid visual iconography to convey his ideas. His prose works, such as The Marriage of Heaven and Hell, and his illustrations of the book of Job, have had an influence on contemporary artists and writers alike. His seminal works, Songs of Innocence and Experience, explored the duality of human nature and depicted his idealized vision of an idyllic childhood. His works continue to inspire and challenge contemporary readers worldwide.
